Digital and data foundations: practical skills for UK AHPs
Developed by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Keele University for NHS England, in collaboration with AHP professional bodies, this course introduces the principles and practice of health informatics in an engaging, accessible format.
Across 23 bite-sized sessions (around 15 minutes each), you’ll explore how data, technology, and digital systems are transforming healthcare. The course includes real-world examples, further reading, and networking opportunities with other informatics enthusiasts.
You’ll also complete reflective activities to support your learning, career development, and problem-solving in your workplace.
By the end of the course, you will understand key terms, recognise the role of patients and data in shaping digital healthcare, and appreciate how informatics can reduce health inequity. You’ll also be able to define an informatics problem, engage stakeholders, and identify the frameworks that underpin this growing field.
